Biografie
Karol Marianowski is an outstanding cellist and laureate of many international competitions. He received his musical education at renowned music schools: Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, The Boston Conservatory, Universität der Künste in Berlin, Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia and Chapelle Musicale Reine Elizabeth in Brussels. He attended classes with renowned cello mentors as Ivan Monighetti, Tobias Kühne, Daniil Shafran, Milos Sadlo, Sergiej Roldugin, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Andrew Mark, Kazimierz Michalik and Andrzej Bauer. During his education he was influenced by outstanding personalities from many different instrumental disciplines and musical directions such as Alfred Brendel, Günter Pichler, Cuarteto Casals and Artemis Quartett.
For more than a decade he was a member of Meccore String Quartet and since 2018 he has continued chamber music activities with the BOARTE Piano Trio. As a soloist and quartet / trio musician he performed in many prestigious concert halls and festivals all over the world including the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Wigmore Hall in London, Bozar in Brussels, Musikverein in Vienna, Pollack Hall in Montreal, Frick Collection in New York, Rheingau Musik Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, L. van Beethoven Easter Festival, Budapest Spring Festival, Heidelberg Frühling Musikfestival, Kissinger Sommer Musikfestival, Festival Radio France Montpellier, Bregenzer Festspiele.
He is teaching at Fryderyk Chopin School of Music in Warsaw (since 2007) and I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań (2015-2017). In 2018 he opened a cello solo and chamber music class in Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
Karol Marianowski has accomplished numerous TV and radio recordings for Mezzo, Bayerischer Rundfunk, BBC Radio 3, Rai3, Radio Clásica RTVE, Radio Stephansdom, Radio Merkury, NDR Kultur, ZDF, Phoenix, WQXR, TVP Kultura, Polish Radio 2.
Also his quartet CD recordings (for Warner Music Poland and MDG Germany) were granted the “Supersonic Award” by classical music magazine “Pizzicato”, Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and received three nominations for the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry music award “Fryderyk”.
The artist performs on a master piece cello made by Johann Christian Schönfelder (a.d. 1743).
